Grant Thornton Partners appointed to FInD bankrupt's £20million
assets
David Ingram, Partner in Grant Thornton's Fraud Insolvency
Division (FInD) and Mike Gerrard, Bankruptcy Partner, have been
jointly appointed as Trustees in Bankruptcy of Scot Young to
recover assets for the benefit of his creditors, who are owed over
£20million.
Scot Young, the former multi-millionaire, was
declared bankrupt on 9th April 2010 following a petition from HM
Revenue & Customs. He is currently facing well publicised
divorce proceedings from his wife Michelle.
David Ingram said: "I will be conducting a
thorough investigation to find and recover any assets so that
creditors can receive payment of their claims."
"Clearly this is a case where there are
differing versions of the truth. However, we have a great
deal of experience in unpicking complex financial transactions to
establish whether fraud or money laundering have taken place.
We can also take practical steps to recover any assets, even if
they have been spirited overseas."
Grant Thornton's Fraud Insolvency Division
specialises in the tracing and recovery of assets in whatever
international jurisdiction they are located using insolvency and
litigation to achieve recovery. Grant Thornton's FInD is the
largest such team in the UK with 4 Partners and 75 staff
dedicated to the tracing and recovery of the proceeds of
fraud and other economic crime.
