Sarah Howard (Government Audit Partner)
Sarah heads our Government Audit Group,
specialising in external audit work for the UK supreme audit
agencies.
Experience
Sarah joined us at Grant Thornton in 2007, following the merger
with RSM Robson Rhodes. Sarah has 25 years public sector audit
experience and heads our national Government Audit team of over 80
dedicated professionals, responsible for delivering our framework
contracts with the Audit Commission, Wales Audit Office and Audit
Scotland. Sarah is engagement partner for a range of NHS and local
government bodies in the north, including Manchester City Council
and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Sarah trained with the Audit Commission and spent four years in
the Bristol headquarters specialising in the payment and audit of
central government grants to local authorities. Sarah focused on
regeneration and housing grants, and she continues to advise
internally and externally on grant related matters.
Sarah is an active CIPFA member. She has been an examiner,
regional CPD advisor, and Chair of Yorkshire and the Humber Region.
In 2010 she was awarded the Dr Hedley Marshall CBE memorial prize
for outstanding service to CIPFA regional activities.
